Soldiers of 7th Northants drawing their section's rations at a rest camp at Dickebusch behind the lines near Ypres on 9th August 1917. Bread, cheese, jam and canned meat is being drawn. Very close scrutiny of the oval cans in the crate show them to be 'Horn-pipe' brand canned herring (see Rations-Fish).
